Monarch Favorites

Awareness of the need to grow plants that support Monarch butterflies has skyrocketed as quickly as the numbers of this iconic species have plummeted due to habitat loss and environmental stress. One source of hope is that the individual gardener can make a difference by including Monarch-friendly plants in home landscaping plans. Growers across the country are joining forces with concerned organizations like monarchwatch.org to create Monarch waystations to sustain the insects along their annual migration routes. These waystations can be gardens of any size--rural, urban or suburban--that include not only Milkweeds (exclusive food source for Monarch larvae) but also a variety of flowers that provide nectar from spring through fall. We offer a wide selection of native plants to meet these needs of the threatened Monarch.
