Little Bluestem is a warm season grass; it actively grows during the summer when soil temperatures are warm.  Generally a species of drier ecosystems, it can do well in moist situations, too.  It is a beautiful coppery pink all winter. Other Scientific Names in use: Andropogon scoparius
