Spotted Bee Balm (also called Dotted Mint or Dotted Horsemint) requires sandy soils.  It is an eccentric beauty in form and color with complex blossoms topping 2' stems in hues of pink, green, beige, and maroon.  Preferring sun or part shade, it does best in well-drained or sandy soils.
