Bidens cernua (Nodding Bur Marigold)
The bright, sunflower-like yellow blossoms of Bidens cernua grace full-sun wet sites in the summer months and September. The fruiting heads tend to nod.

Nodding Bur Marigold is an annual; it completes its life cycle during one season but will re-seed.

Sticktights (see detailed seed picture) are the burr-like seeds of some Bidens species, so named because they stick to clothing, shoestrings, etc.

Other Common Names in use: Nodding Beggar's Ticks, Nodding Beggartick, Bur Marigold and Sticktight
