Aster sagittifolius (Arrow-leaved Aster), Drummond's Aster is even classified as a subspecies by some, but its stems and foliar undersides are covered by fine hairs. The leaves extend on wing-like stems and are lance-like or oval with heart-shaped bases. The white blossoms become tinged with blue-purple as they age.
