Prairie Milkweed, also called Sullivant's Milkweed, appears generally
similar to
Common Milkweed but is less aggressive and has slightly
smaller flowers. Visited by hummingbirds, aphids and a wide variety of bees and butterflies (including Monarchs), Prairie Milkweed is one of its genus favored by the larvae of the Milkweed Leaf-Miner fly, which bore holes in the leaves.
Prairie Milkweed is rhizomatous.
