Sporobolus heterolepis (Northern Dropseed)
Sporobolus heterolepis, sometimes called Prairie Dropseed, makes a beautiful display in the prairie or garden with the long flowing blades and the spiked seed heads.  The fall color is golden and lasts through winter. Northern Dropseed actively grows during the summer when soil temperatures are warm.

Seed sold as PLS = Pure Live Seed. For example, if you purchase 1 pound of seed and the PLS is 80%, you will receive 1.25 pounds of bulk seed.

Bush's Poppy Mallow can mature to 2' in height but will often be seen spreading out rather than up. Its magenta flowers are a real stand-out in any planting. It prefers drier soil conditions, full sun to partial shade and has a long bloom time through the summer months. Callirhoe species also are called "Winecups."
