Carex pensylvanica (Common Oak Sedge)
Carex pensylvanica reproduces by rhizomes. To get a solid stand of this sedge that so many desire, we recommend buying a few plants to divide over the years. It will spread between 3"-8" each year depending on the soil moisture of the site.

Common Oak Sedge (often called Pennsylvania Sedge) actively grows during the spring and fall when soil temperatures are cool.

This Pennsylvania Sedge may be more commonly seen than the 'sand variation' we also sell - which grows exclusively in pure, deep sand.

Seeds / Packet: 75

Dormant bare root plants ship each year during optimal transplanting seasons: Spring (April - May) and Fall (October).
