Be Here Now

I need to remind myself to “be here now.” This is my new mantra! It is mid-January and we have endured some gawd-awful cold weather. Now, after our thaw, it feels like we are on the downhill side of winter. Recently I have been hearing different bird songs, the light is coming back, and seed catalogs are arriving in my mail. I know I can’t make time go any faster, so I need to “be here now.” There is beauty all around and I’d like to share some of what I have observed.
Baptisia leucantha (White Wild Indigo)
Elymus canadensis (Canada Wild Rye) , Both beautiful shots!
Silphium laciniatum (Compass Plant) One lonely little leaf.
I highly suggest: slow down when you can, take a deep breath, and look around.
What are you seeing that reminds you to be here now?

After several years of site preparation and seed collecting, it’s time to finish my first venture into ‘frost seeding’ on a one acre site.
Good for you! Have you checked out this blog with lots of feedback on frost seeding?
